Who's who in the Charity
The Board of Trustees oversee the general operation of the charity, setting its strategic direction, aims, objectives and targets.
The charity is managed by George Solly, who is also Director of Fundraising. George has long experience of the non-for-profit sector, having worked for Children’s Aid Direct before working at DoKHC. Previously, he worked in the commercial world particularly with international trade development, market placement and business development, in the fields of physical therapy, education, food and beverages, hotels and catering.
Other paid colleagues include Mary Butler who used to run a chain of family pharmacies and looks after our accounts and all things financial. Sue Day, also a part-timer, assists with event management and fundraising. Kate Parkinson who has recently joined us works on special fundraising projects and initiatives. (Our paid staff amount to 1.5 full time equivalent personnel.)
Other office tasks including ‘thanking and banking’, retail, coin collection counting, filing, IT and stock management are undertaken by volunteers Carole, Anita, Graham, Jo and Joyce who give freely of their time regularly once a week.
