We are pleased to announce that we are becoming a subsidiary charity of Sue Ryder. This will mean bringing together the two local fundraising teams at Duchess of Kent House Charity and Sue Ryder as one to focus on growing the income together for Duchess of Kent House. This joint decision has been made as there is currently an annual voluntary income need at the Hospice of £550,000. Duchess of Kent House Charity on average provides £250,000 to the care which leaves an annual gap of £300,000. We believe working together is the best way to fill this gap and continue to grow income to help our healthcare colleagues develop the local services further.  Click here for more information and FAQ’s

Relatives say it from the heart...

"Please receive this donation with thanks, the doctors and nurses are so great; we can have a laugh and a joke. The treatment I’m getting is wonderful; my health has improved at least 50% from when I came in.”

"Her last few weeks were spent in the local NHS Duchess of Kent House Hospice, where she received outstanding care and attention above and beyond anything we could possible have expected. During her time in the hospice, the family felt they benefitted from facilities which could only be provided because of time and effort which others had previously put into raising money for the hospice. Now we want to raise enough money to pass that same comfort and warmth on to someone else".
