| Duchess of Kent House Charity is one of the beneficiaries of this event organised by The Rotary Club of Pangbourne which shares proceeds from the day’s event amongst local charities.
Each race, led by their drummer beats out the rhythm for paddling. 16 people paddle a dragon boat along a course of 250 metres, racing against other 11 teams.
 This year Duchess of Kent House sponsored its own Dragon Boat under the captaincy of trustee David Murby. Local Theale company, Nvidia also manned a boat to benefit the Duchess of Kent House. Caversham Health Club was the third team hoping to raise cash for us.
The whole event was exhausting but hugely enjoyable and much will have been raised for the benefitting charities, including us. So successful indeed that Duchess of Kent house Charity hope to make it one of their major fundraising events each year. |
