| We are pleased to announce the 2011 Reading Half Marathon is now open for entries. Once again Duchess of Kent House Charity (DoKHC) has been chosen as an official charity, and we have guaranteed places available.
The race, now in its 28th year, attracts over 16,000 participants at each event and is the second largest half marathon in the country. The course will follow the same route as 2010 and start at Green Park. It will then wind its way around Reading town before ending inside the Madejski Stadium, home of Reading Football Club.
The run will be held on Sunday, 20th March 2011 and the day will also feature a wheelchair half marathon and the Green Park Challenge 3km fun run. For more information about the event please visit http://www.readinghalfmarathon.com/.
This year 70 people ran for DoKHC; raising an amazing £35,000 towards supporting the specialist palliative care services available at Duchess of Kent House. If you would like to run for DoKHC in 2011, please contact Sue Day by email on sue.day@dokhc.org.uk or call 0118 939 4889; we will be with you every step of the way. You will need to raise a minimum of £150.00 in sponsorship and we will provide help with getting fit and fundraising more effectively, setting up online sponsorship forms and we'll send you a branded T-shirt or running vest; we'll even be there to cheer you on! |
