St George on the run

Terry Robinson’s wife was cared for at Duchess of Kent House last year. He popped into the charity office just before Christmas to buy a teddy for his young children. ‘Do you like running?’ asked Sue, who helps organise the 60 plus supporters who are running this year’s Reading Half Marathon. Before he knew it, Terry was signed up and started training in earnest, losing two stone in the process! Terry said, "Training for the Reading gave me purpose and direction and was a positive way I could thank the hospice staff for all they did for Jackie and the family before she died."

You won’t miss Terry on marathon day as he will be dressed as St George with the charity’s logo on his shield and sword. Terry works for Southern Electric in Vastern Road and is hoping that his workmates there and across the county will help him raise lots of money for Duchess of Kent House Charity.

So beware! Buy a teddy at the Charity and you might loose lots of weight and end up fighting a dragon!
