| Last week Christmas shoppers at Morrisons raised £2700 for hospice care in the Berkshire West area.
From 6 to 12 December, staff and volunteers from Duchess of Kent House Charity (DoKHC) held collections and sold novelty Christmas items at the Morrisons store on Rose Kiln Lane, Reading, as part of a nine month UK-wide campaign by the supermarket to raise £1 million for hospice care.
Through Morrisons Charity of the Year partnership with Help the Hospices, the leading charity supporting hospice care throughout the UK, every Morrisons store has been twinned with its nearest hospice to raise money that will directly fund hospice services in the local community.
George Solly, Director of Fundraising at DoKHC said: “The generosity of the customers and staff at the Reading store has been fantastic. While preparing for their own Christmas celebrations, they didn’t forget all those people that are having to prepare for the season with only weeks to live.” |
