Light Up A Life

Friday 3rd December at 6:30 p.m. at
 Duchess of Kent House
 22 Liebenrood Road, Reading RG30 2DX

Those Remembered
(as at 03/12/10)

For the twelfth Christmas running we would like to invite you to celebrate with us the life of someone who was very dear to you. As we approach the end of another year our thoughts turn to relatives and friends who are no longer with us. For this reason, Christmas can be a difficult time for many but as our previous Light Up A Life appeals have proved, there is a meaningful way to treasure the memory of a loved one.

Over the festive season lights will be hung in the grounds of Duchess of Kent House around the central courtyard. Each light will shine out to Light Up A Life of a person very special and dear to us.

If you would like to sponsor a light in celebration of the life of a relative or friend, please fill in the form and return it to us. Alternatively, you can click here to donate online.  Your donation does not need to be in the name of someone we cared for at the Duchess of Kent House – it could be for anyone who was special to you.

The lights will be turned on for us at 6:30 p.m. on Friday 3rd December during a special service in the Duchess of Kent House grounds (rear of Dellwood Hospital site in Liebenrood Road) to which you are invited to attend. The service of carols and readings will feature local children and adult choirs accompanied by the Reading Spring Gardens Band. Berkshire MP’s and civic leaders from the three local authority areas we serve will also be supporting us. The lights will shine out every evening from 3rd December until Twelfth Night.

Any donation that you can make will be most appreciated.

All donations received will go towards providing additional care, equipment and services for the patients in Duchess of Kent House. Here are some examples of what your generosity can do:
