Duchess of Kent House Charity (DoKHC) is delighted to have been chosen as Charity of the Year by Reading law firm Blandy & Blandy LLP.
Staff at the firm voted to support DoKHC for the next two years. DoKHC is an independent charity that helps fund the NHS hospice of the same name. George Solly, Director of Fundraising at the charity said “By adopting DoKHC as their Charity of the Year, Blandy & Blandy are putting their organisation at the heart of the local community. By taking part in fun and exciting events and initiatives, the staff will raise funds to help us provide the additional services and equipment that the NHS is unable to.”
Nick Burrows, Blandy & Blandy’s Joint Managing Partner and Head of Charities added “My colleagues and I are excited by the challenge of coming up with enjoyable and interesting fundraising ideas. In the past we have raised money for various local charities and are looking forward to doing the same for DoKHC”.
Earlier this year Blandy & Blandy was one of fifteen local law firms that took part in DoKHC’s Wills Fortnight. This project involved solicitors writing standard wills free of charge in exchange for a donation to DoKHC and raised over £5000.00 for the hospice.
The firm’s office is based in Friar Street; it was founded in 1733 and is one of the top 200 in the country. It has a dedicated charity and not-for-profit team which acts for a number of charities; as well as schools, charitable trusts and social enterprises. |
