| Do you want to make a difference?
The Specialist Palliative Care Service offers care and support to patients with life limiting conditions.
If you are a good listener and available to offer regular commitment and would like to make a difference to these patients and carers in their own homes read on:
Some patients may require additional support to that offered by family and friends or in some circumstances patients maybe isolated and alone or it may be that their regular carer is in need of a regular break. The Befriending Service could fulfil this need in the Reading and Wokingham area.
The new Befriending Volunteer Service which is funded by Duchess of Kent House Charity and Wokingham & District Cancer Care Trust are looking for Befriending Volunteers.
If this role would interest you we would be looking for commitment of 3-4 hours per week.
Ideally you will need your own transport and have a current and valid driving licence.
In return we would off your education and training, supervision and support. Any travel expenses incurred and most importantly a rewarding and valuable experience.
If this is the sort of volunteering you would enjoy then please contact:
