Funded by the Duchess of Kent House Charity and Wokingham District Cancer Care Trust, Wednesday, 14th July 2010, saw the launch of the new Befriending Service. This new service offers volunteer support at home for people with progressive life limiting illness.
The service provides support and companionship to patients and their families; enables carers to have a break or have small errands completed. The volunteers come from a variety of different backgrounds and are interviewed and trained for the role.
